These Super Soul Sisters have big azzed S’s on their chests.
Not too long ago, Oprah Winfrey ended her show of 25 years. She decided to use her last season to mend a number of broken fences with people that she loved. Iyanla Vanzant was one of those friends. Ten years before, they had a brutal falling out during the process of Oprah’s vetting Iyanla for her own show. Barbara Walters sidetracked Iyanla with an offer of a show through her. When Iyanla went back to Oprah and her people with a request to speed up their show for her, they decided to cut Iyanla out completely. She and Oprah hadn’t spoken to each other in 10 years because of it.
Oprah and Iyanla mended those fences in Oprah’s last season, and it was riveting to watch. I don’t know if such positive drama ever existed on TV between two women, much less two black women! Thank God they reunited, and after almost a year they are now collaborating on Oprah’s new Lifeclass, where they shine in giving out good mother wit advice mixed with a bit of spirituality, wisdom and Godly power. The show resonates with everyone - across race, age, gender, and sexual orientation and it’s amazing to watch. The best thing is I can watch it on Live Streaming right on my computer. No OWN cable subscription issues. Woot woot!
Iyanla and Oprah have an unmistakable chemistry that flows well together - Oprah tones down Iyanla’s craziness, and Iyanla revs up Oprah’s sistergirl realness! What can I say, I love it! I’m also highly impressed by Iyanla’s counseling style, coupled with her wisdom and laser focus on each person she deals with. She’s a walking encyclopedia of wise sayings and proverbs, and she keeps Oprah busy with a notepad to capture those sayings. Oprah even brought out an old notepad she had written one of Iyanla’s wise sayings down thirteen years previously and held on to it all that time. Very honoring.
In the Lifeclass, the ladies are giving people life assignment homework, and many are actually doing the work and reporting back with their wonderful emotional breakthroughs. It’s all good. I believe it’s all God. It’s inspiring to see these two beautiful, big bosomed motherly sisters with strange beautiful names encouraging and dispensing priceless mother wit. It borders on irony. I think the nation is in need of these ladies, who both have struggled with and overcome numerous obstacles, all in the public eye. Sometimes, mother wit and wisdom is all that’s needed if the person is open to hearing and learning.
These two beautiful black women are a wonderful alternative to the trash that is on TV these days. They are a breath of fresh air. I see them both as Superwomen.

Interesting. These are two very gifted Black Women with strong opinions, fresh insights & some acquired wisdom that would/could make them both excellent teachers of the spirit & lifelong role models. Yes, I know. Oprah is already wearing that hat for much of the free world. But the killa combo of them both just seems even MO POWERFUL.
Now, let’s just hope they can continue to get along.
