Here’s a black love story like none you’ve seen.
I was reading another blog when I learned about this young brother, Terence Nance, whose film, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, has been selected by the Sundance Film Festival. So I tried to find as much as I could about this young man. I have included a series of interviews and a teaser of his film, which looks very interesting, as well as being visually beautiful. It’s the story of a young man who has fallen deeply in love and is fully experiencing the highs of love’s beauty as well as the lows and the emotional pains of love. He’s a quixotic young man and through the experiences of his feelings, he learns about himself.
I’m proud of Terence because throughout the FIVE YEARS that it took for him to get his film to the Sundance, the journey didn’t break him. He just kept plugging along, creating clever videos to promote the film and making the connections and doing the hard work necessary to get it funded. He was able to raise the $20,000 he needed to complete the film. And now the sweet victory of being chosen by Sundance! Congratulations, Terence!
